Rob Drummond is a part-time member of the LTE team, and has been since 2006. He has worked at the University since 2003, when he joined the University Language Centre as a Teaching Fellow in EFL, having been teaching abroad and in the UK since 1997. Here he taught on a variety of EFL/EAP courses, as well as setting up the popular Introduction to TEFL (now TESOL) course for second year Languages undergraduates who were about to embark on a year abroad as part of their degree. His connection with the LTE team comes from his time doing a Masters in Applied Linguistics here in 2003.

In August 2007 Rob left the ULC to start a PhD in Linguistics, where he also works as Graduate Teaching Fellow, teaching undergraduates on courses in phonetics, phonology, syntax and semantics. This hasn’t affected his role here though, where he teaches on the on-site and distance versions of the Approaches and Methodology and the Multimedia in Language Education courses. Rob has various interests within TESOL, but he is particularly interested in phonology and the teaching of pronunciation, and the use of multimedia in language teaching.

When he isn’t studying or teaching, Rob designs websites for various clients and organisations.
